Thermal barriers come in the form of 1/2-inch gypsum drywall or any material that is proven to have an equal fire resistance to gypsum wallboard. Additionally, alternate assemblies can be used if they have been tested in a laboratory and approved. Ignition barriers are a lower standard to meet, and can be satisfied with a number of different materials. Like thermal barriers, they can be substituted with equivalent fire resistant materials and alternate assemblies, such as an intumescent coating. Coating Services

Inspired in part by the ceramic tiles that NASA uses on the Space Shuttle, a ceramic coating is a paint mixed with one or more ceramic compounds for application via spray or roller to exterior and interior surfaces. Depending on the ceramic compounds used (there are hundreds of varieties), this insulating product has the ability to prevent heat transfer and heat loading onto a structure. This means heat will not transfer into or out of a building. Coating Services

What do you mean by "our AC units require fresh air ventilation"? Fresh air doesn't come from the attic. If there's an atmospheric combustion appliance in the attic, such as an 80 AFUE furnace, then you shouldn't be encapsulating the attic anyway. If that's the case, you don't want spray foam on the roofline at all. You can either change out the furnace to a sealed combustion unit or do your insulating and air-sealing at the flat-ceiling level. Insulation Spray Coating
Car was washed with Carpro reset and wiped down with Griots garage paint prep to ensure a clean surface for first application of CMX. Week one CMX had a nice gloss with small tight beads after getting rained on (typical Si02 protection). Week two the beads were large and flat (low contact angle) so product was on it's way out. Week three the water was sheeting with no beading at all. That's complete failure in three weeks. Also I didn't like the white crystals that developed in the bottle. I'm concerned that if I used the product again that I'd mar my Audi's Mythos black paint. My car is parked outside driven only about 50 miles per week and is washed weekly with Megs gold class car wash. . Won't apply it again. Moving on.... Coating Services
This product has nice UV resistance, thus to reduce the temperature of your roof. It also resists cracking and withstands impact, providing a durable barrier for the roof. This product is non-polluting and non-toxic, being safe for the environment and your health. It’s easy to apply, and one gallon of this roof coating can cover up to 200 square feet of surface area. Spray Coating

Spray foam insulation, when properly installed is both an air barrier and when closed cell foam is used at the proper depth a vapor barrier! Before hiring any contractor you should establish the brand of foam being used and verify that with the named manufacture. Please ask for ESR reports and MSDS sheets on any foam being installed in your home. A couple areas where you might consider spray foam insulation include:
E/M Coating Services has over 40 years of experience in applying critical tolerance coatings, and is a pioneer in the development and application of solid film lubricant (SFL) coatings. With its network of five U.S. facilities, E/M Coating Services is the largest applicator of solid film lubricant coatings in North America. Additional facilities in Evesham, U.K.; Unna, Germany and Tianjin & Suzhou, China apply a broad range of SFL and other coatings to steel, titanium and aluminum substrates.
Synavax™ thermal insulation coatings help organizations improve energy efficiency. They are nano-engineered patented cutting-edge thermal paint coatings that provide next generation performance beyond older, non-patented ceramic insulation products. Additionally, our products are eco-friendly and provide mold-resistant and anti-condensation properties without harmful biocides and other harsh chemicals, which is a significant plus for sustainably-minded companies. One of the high-tech insulation products being utilized these days is a foam-spray product called "Icynene," which is a foam that starts as two liquid components (a and b, if you will) that are heated up and sent through two hoses and meet at a tip of a gun where the magic begins. This is a thin film that expands to 100 times its volume in eight seconds, when it's permanently set up. Spray Coating Services
Thermal spraying can provide thick coatings (approx. thickness range is 20 microns to several mm, depending on the process and feedstock), over a large area at high deposition rate as compared to other coating processes such as electroplating, physical and chemical vapor deposition. Coating materials available for thermal spraying include metals, alloys, ceramics, plastics and composites. They are fed in powder or wire form, heated to a molten or semimolten state and accelerated towards substrates in the form of micrometer-size particles. Combustion or electrical arc discharge is usually used as the source of energy for thermal spraying. Resulting coatings are made by the accumulation of numerous sprayed particles. The surface may not heat up significantly, allowing the coating of flammable substances.
The standard prescriptive material that can be used as a thermal barrier is 1/2" gypsum board (a.k.a. drywall or sheetrock). Anything else has to be approved as an 'equivalent thermal barrier' by undergoing tests for temperature transmission and fire integrity. In some cases, however, you need only one test. According to the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA), "Under specific conditions, the temperature transmission test can be waived if approved by building code authorities on the basis of large-scale fire testing representing actual uses." (See their pdf document, Thermal and Ignition Barriers For The SPF Industry.) Spray Coating Services
When intumescent coatings are used with spray foaminsulation, they are specific to each insulation brand. You cannot use one intumescent coating with a brand that it was not intended for. If you do not use the properspray foaminsulation brand and intumescent coating combination, then your work will not technically be up to code. Additionally, it is important to keep in mind that intumescent coating can only be used as an ignition barrier alternative if it is being used in an attic or crawl space. And, even then, it can only be used if space is not used for storage and is accessible through a small hatch or door.
That’s $58.3 Billion dollars. That’s roughly how much money we wasted in 2010 in the US according to the Department of Energy because of air leaking out of our building envelopes. If your building leaks energy, you’re paying more for energy than you need to. Clearly you’re not alone. If you’re ready to claim your share of the savings, it’s quicker and easier than you think. The Rubberseal creates a coat that can efficiently reflect heat off the roofs of buildings. It is Energy Star rated, which means it’s friendly to the environment. The spread rate of this product is 60 square feet per gallon at 20 imperial mils. It dries in 2 hours but takes 72 hours to get fully cured. Check the weather forecast before you apply it.
These are robust production capabilities, which allow us to consistently and reliably meet a broad range of coating requirements. Our technical managers ensure the substrate and coating are compatible and are the best possible materials for the job. We engineer our process to deliver a uniform coating in a precise layer from .001” to .005” in thickness.
