This stuff works perfectly! We'll see how long it holds up on my nicely prepped paint on my black 1996 Jeep Cherokee. I first hand washed it, then used Meguiars Clay Bar kit on it, then compounded it using Meguiars Ultimate Compound, then polished it using Meguiars polish, then used wax and grease remover to remove any oily residue from the previous steps, then applied the Mother's CMX using a microfiber foam hand applicator to spread one spray at a time evenly across the paint... Let it sit for a few minutes to bond with the paint surface, then used a really soft microfiber towel that came with my clay bar kit to buff off the dried powder residue to a perfect shine!! It wiped off very easily and then let it sit to cure for 24 hours without getting wet... It looks flawless on my fresh black paint! And water falls right off of it like all the other great brand ceramic coatings!! Highly recommend it especially for the price and the big bottle... This stuff has a very strong smell to it (must be good!), and is completely white like milk inside it if you unscrew the cap and have a look at it... I'm very satisfied, this was my first time ever using a ceramic coating before and it worked exactly how they claimed and advertised in their video Ads on FACEBOOK

Weather & Drying Guidelines: Ames® Super Primer™, Maximum-Stretch® and Iron Coat® is best applied between 50° to 90° F (10° to 32° C) on warm dry surfaces. Apply when the streets are dry, the sun is in the sky and no inclement weather is forecast. Starts to dry in about 2-8 hours, depending on thickness of application and weather. It is recommended to allow a minimum of 24 hours between coats with no rain in the forecast and no freezing temperatures. Low temperatures, high humidity and evening and morning dew will require increased drying/curing time. Do not apply after 2pm for best drying. The earlier you can put it on, the better. Make sure any morning dew is completely dried off before proceeding. Spray Coating

A spray booth is a pressure-controlled closed environment, originally used to paint vehicles in a body shop. To ensure the ideal working conditions (temperature, air flow, and humidity), these environments are equipped with ventilation, consisting of mechanical fans driven by electric motors, and optionally burners to heat the air to speed paint drying. Toxic solvents and paint particles are exhausted outside, possibly after filtering and treatment to reduce air pollution. Prevention of fires and dust explosions is also a high priority. In order to assist in the removal of the over sprayed paint from the air and to provide efficient operation of the down-draft, water-washed paint spray booths utilize paint detackifying chemical agents. In order to fulfill the requirements for an ignition barrier, most builders will choose to install a prescriptive ignition barrier such as mineral fiber insulation, install cellulose insulation, or install an approved alternate assembly of spray foam insulation coated with an intumescent coating. Recently, builders have begun using spray foam insulation that passes fire safety tests on their own, without any protective barriers or intumescent coatings.

HVOF coatings may be as thick as 12 mm (1/2"). It is typically used to deposit wear and corrosion resistant coatings on materials, such as ceramic and metallic layers. Common powders include WC-Co, chromium carbide, MCrAlY, and alumina. The process has been most successful for depositing cermet materials (WC–Co, etc.) and other corrosion-resistant alloys (stainless steels, nickel-based alloys, aluminium, hydroxyapatite for medical implants, etc.).[1]
Chris M.: Yes, I meant to mention in the article that this applies to both open cell (a.k.a. low density or 1/2 pound SPF) and closed cell (a.k.a. medium density or 2 pound SPF). Foam board insulation also needs to meet the requirements for thermal and ignition barriers, and some products, like Dow Thermax, have gotten approval to be left exposed.

In recent years, there has been a significant rise in the use of spray foam insulation in construction. Spray foam insulation varies from traditional insulation, such as fiberglass, in many respects. Fiberglass insulation is typically much cheaper than spray foam insulation; however, it is also less effective at insulating your home. Additionally, spray foaminsulation requires professional installation. Though spray foam insulation is on the rise, fiberglass is still the most common form of home insulation used today. This technique is mostly used to produce coatings on structural materials. Such coatings provide protection against high temperatures (for example thermal barrier coatings for exhaust heat management), corrosion, erosion, wear; they can also change the appearance, electrical or tribological properties of the surface, replace worn material, etc. When sprayed on substrates of various shapes and removed, free-standing parts in the form of plates, tubes, shells, etc. can be produced. It can also be used for powder processing (spheroidization, homogenization, modification of chemistry, etc.). In this case, the substrate for deposition is absent and the particles solidify during flight or in a controlled environment (e.g., water). This technique with variation may also be used to create porous structures, suitable for bone ingrowth, as a coating for medical implants. A polymer dispersion aerosol can be injected into the plasma discharge in order to create a grafting of this polymer on to a substrate surface.[3] This application is mainly used to modify the surface chemistry of polymers. As stated earlier, ignition barriers are a less stringent form of fire prevention compared to thermal barriers. If you are using the spray foamfor an attic or crawl space, then an ignition barrier can be used instead of a thermal barrier if the space meets certain conditions. If the crawl space or attic has no floors, is not used for storage, has no easy access, and is only accessed in order to make repairs and conduct maintenance, then an ignition barrier can be used.
The drawback to spray foam insulation is it's been known to cause certain health issues such irritation of the eye and the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts. Direct contact can cause inflammation to the skin, and some individuals have been known to break out in a rash on the arms, chest and neck area. Spray foam insulation has also been linked to a few cases of hypersensitivity pneumonitis. This condition can cause:
Wire arc spray is a form of thermal spraying where two consumable metal wires are fed independently into the spray gun. These wires are then charged and an arc is generated between them. The heat from this arc melts the incoming wire, which is then entrained in an air jet from the gun. This entrained molten feedstock is then deposited onto a substrate with the help of compressed air. This process is commonly used for metallic, heavy coatings.[1] Spray Coating Services
One application of spray painting is graffiti. The introduction of inexpensive and portable aerosol paint has been a boon to this art form, which has spread all over the world. Spray painting has also been used in fine art. Jules Olitski, Dan Christensen, Peter Reginato, Sir Anthony Caro, and Jean-Michel Basquiat have used airbrushes, for both painting and sculpture.
Combustion spraying guns use oxygen and fuel gases. The fuel gases are potentially explosive. In particular, acetylene may only be used under approved conditions. Oxygen, while not explosive, will sustain combustion, and many materials will spontaneously ignite, if excessive oxygen levels are present. Care must be taken to avoid leakage, and to isolate oxygen and fuel gas supplies, when not in use.[6] Spray Coating Services
The standard prescriptive material that can be used as a thermal barrier is 1/2" gypsum board (a.k.a. drywall or sheetrock). Anything else has to be approved as an 'equivalent thermal barrier' by undergoing tests for temperature transmission and fire integrity. In some cases, however, you need only one test. According to the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA), "Under specific conditions, the temperature transmission test can be waived if approved by building code authorities on the basis of large-scale fire testing representing actual uses." (See their pdf document, Thermal and Ignition Barriers For The SPF Industry.)

There is a significant price difference when it comes to using foam insulation to insulate a new versus older home. Spraying insulation inside a newly constructed home is easier because the installation company can ensure the insulation will work effectively and design it for optimum defense against sound, heat transfer and utility costs. Installing spray foam in older homes that contain existing insulation can cost additional time and money -- it is not usually recommended as compared to weatherization or an energy aduit. Open-cell is also known as half-pound foam. It has an R-Value of 3.5-3.6 per inch, and its density is bout 0.5 pounds per cubic food. Low-density foams like these are made partially from raw biological materials Carbon dioxide or water is also used in the makeup. Open-cell uses far less material than closed-cell, but its R-Value is lower. Also, open cell requires a vapor retarder (like gypsum wallboard) and is riskier when used for roof sheathing. It's not highly recommended that you use open-cell insulation if you live in a cold climate unless you have that extra barrier. You should also compare how much money you spend versus how effective the open-cell insulation is wherever it's installed. Spray Coating
